Propane Gas Grills

Propane Gas Grills Safety Tips

Propane Gas Grills

Propane gas bbq grills are definitely one of the most sought after products of the barbeque season, and gets the men out in the traditional role of barbeque chef. It is a great chance to have an impromptu get together or a more planned party.  However, as with all products that use any form of gas or fuel it is important that you take care and play safe when using your propane gas grill.

There are many choices on offer in terms of which propane gas grill is for you. One of the most light weight and portable is the Weber 1520 Portable Propane Gas Go-Anywhere Grill, which is a very neat unit that features an ample sized grilling area for a small family camping trip or for cooking the fish you just caught after a day on the lake. The propane canister is attached neatly on the side of the unit, and there is an excellent carrying handle.  As this is a portable unit and there is more chance that you are going to be moving it right before cooking, you do need to make sure you allow time for the gas to settle before you turn the gas tap on.

If you are looking for a larger sized propane gas grill for leaving on the patio, then why not consider the Brinkmann Propane Gas Grill 810-8410-S? This is a much bigger unit that has a substantial grilling area as well as a small side burner which is excellent for warming the beans, and a warming rack great for gently toasting the burger buns. Add to this the luxury of a drink holder, utensil rack and bottle opener, and this is a great little unit. The gas canister sits safely underneath behind a closed door.

Another good example of a patio size unit is the Ducane Propane Affinity Series Gas Grill 31731101, which also features an excellent size cooking area powered by three burners to ensure that the cooking results are even. A warming rack is included, and this model features two steel worktop areas either side, making getting cooked food off a lot easier as there is a good space to rest the plate. Again, the gas canister sits discreetly under the unit and is hidden by a door.

As with all propane gas think safety first. If the burner will not ignite, think before you act. Turn off the gas and allow any excess to dissipate before you try again, as a build up of gas can lead to a sudden whoosh and could cause serious injury to your face and hand. If the fire spreads too uncontrollably serious damage and injury to your home and other people could occur, plus the risk of the gas canister exploding too.  Keep children and animals away from the cooking area, and make sure that the gas canister is stored safely away when not in use to prevent accidents or injury to curious children. Always have an adult by the unit whilst the gas is on and lit.
